The Amdavadni Gufa offers an extraordinary opportunity to
experience a collaborative effort of two great legends, namely B.V Doshi, a
genius architect and M.F Hussain, a renowned artist!
The strange dome is set below ground level; it makes sense
because the main objective of this dome was cool down tired visitors from the
raging ahmedabadi heat!
The whole structure is supported by a whole lot of regularly
placed, irregularly inclined Coney pillars!
It also features beautiful silhouettes of women, horses and
other earthy creatures!
Moving on to the Centre attention, which you first will
observe when you enter the dome are M.F Hussain’s magnificent paintings!
The dome’s walls are filled with brightly coloured horses,
humans and abstract figures that were beyond my understanding!
Now that we’re done dealing with the main attraction lets
move on towards the side attractions.
The campus of Ahmedabad University also includes an art
gallery, which presents splendid works of art made by both, amateur and
experienced artists every week!
The Hussain-Doshi Dome sure is a treat for the eyes!
I’m sure that you will be Hungry and will be looking for
food after such a mesmerising day, don’t worry ‘cause I’ve got your back!
Food inn the
restaurant features very appetizing and mouth-watering indo Arabian food!
It aesthetically too is remarkable and has digital
projections of famous places like The Taj Mahal and popular mosques drawn by
Arabic letters!
Once you’re all ready to order food, don’t forget to include
their scrumptious chicken steak and fries, which will sure make you drool and
want you to come back again!
